Sprint Review

An event held at the end of the Sprint to inspect the Increment and adapt the Product Backlog based on feedback.

What it means

The Sprint Review is timeboxed to a maximum of four hours for a one-month Sprint. The Scrum Team presents the results of their work to key stakeholders, and progress toward the Product Goal is discussed.

This is a working session, not a one-way presentation or a sign-off gate. The Product Owner explains what has been Done and not Done, the Developers discuss what went well and what problems occurred, and the whole group collaborates on what to do next.

Common mistakes

The outcome of the Sprint Review is a revised Product Backlog that reflects new opportunities discovered through inspection and adaptation.

Example

Stakeholders test the new checkout flow live during the Sprint Review and immediately suggest a simplification the team adds to the backlog.
