Developers
The people in the Scrum Team who are committed to creating any aspect of a usable Increment each Sprint, regardless of job title.
What it means
In the Scrum Guide, 'Developers' refers to anyone doing the work of building the product: engineers, designers, testers, writers, or any other specialty needed, not only software programmers.
Developers are accountable for creating a plan for the Sprint (the Sprint Backlog), instilling quality by adhering to the Definition of Done, adapting their plan daily toward the Sprint Goal, and holding each other accountable as professionals.
Common mistakes
A Scrum Team's Developers should be cross-functional as a group, meaning together they have all the skills needed to create value each Sprint, even if no individual has every skill.
Example
The Developers on a fintech team include two backend engineers, a frontend engineer, and a QA specialist, all planning the Sprint together.
